Underneath the arches?
An email received from a contributor speculates as to why the good burghers of Swansea insist on retaining the old Slip Bridge abutments. These continue to 'grace' the city's foreshore (shown below) even though the dismantled bridge now serves as a outsized garden feature further up the coast.
We have no idea if his suggestion is on the level.

I love the idea of Swansea’s freemasons coming out at night and standing in order of precedence on the Slip Bridge. One assumes that Sticky Dick has a special spot all his own.

ReplyDeleteJokes aside, this silly situation has been allowed to continue for far too long. You would think that 10 years is long enough to decide whether to take the abutments away or seek a HLF grant to restore the bridge span.
