It seems the only sanction he 'suffered' was being told to apologise to an employee. However, the Swansea Valley councillor reportedly showed little actual remorse and, according to observers, was seen bearing a shit-eating grin across his chops when he later emerged from the office.
Managers who failed to flag up the incident to the Ombudsman, now insist that the matter is closed. This has enraged a large number of staff and one insider stated, “Politicians and senior management are just closing ranks. Bullying by councillors is now officially condoned”.

Sadly this is all too common. Politicians talk a lot about equality but always seem to believe that the HR policies they vote through don't actually apply to them personally.
It took some time to work out the identity of this Swansea Valley councillor. Six foot ex builder my arse. A overweight ex navvy would have identified him immediately, as he has always claimed to be a construction engineer. If those allegations are correct, how is it that some time ago, 2 independent councillors were removed from holding the position of Mayor for what is or was minor misdemeanors. The current Tory councillor is being investigated by the ombudsman for being ageist, yet a labour councillor is alleged to have sworn and ranted with 4 letter words at female staff, and gets away with it. Nice to see that a minority of labour members are still able to coerce management and tyrannise junior staff
It seems as if senior officers didn't want this to go forward as a complaint which is bad news for the girls on the "shop floor" because it means they are fair game now for other bullies like DJ. How long before someone gets physical as well as verbal. Shame on the senior officers responsible for smothering this verbal attack.
