Signing off?

As speculation continues among the pundits over Tory election chances on Thursday, we can reveal that the assessment volunteered by a party insider in an Uplands pub last night is "We're totally f****d".

The view is clearly shared by Lib Dem council leader Chris Holley who could hardly contain his glee during his radio stint this morning. Or perhaps it was a reaction to the news that his arch-nemesis Lis Davies had been nicked for "electoral irregularities"

Meanwhile, Labour seized the initiative by insisting that Gordon Brown actually did meet some real people during his recent visit when he stopped off at David Phillips' house for a coffee. (?)

Update: The murky pools got a bit murkier following claims by Lib Dem Rob Speht on a party blogsite that, "South Wales Police are also investigating possible Election Fraud in the Landore Ward in Swansea. One woman who is down on the Tory forms doesn’t think she signed them. Another person speaks no English whatsoever and although remembers signing the forms, did not know what they were for".

All good stuff - as long as you don't start to ponder how Cllr Speht managed to come by this info in the case of the second individual.
