Getting angry

It’s always amazing the things people say when they’re out having a good time in Wind Street (Swansea’s favourite binge spot).

Among the well-watered souls littering a certain hostelry over the weekend was a senior council officer who let slip news that staff plan to hold meetings on the steps of County Hall, a.k.a. Civic Centre, in protest at the lack of parking facilities. We understand that a series of special events – the code for unofficial stoppages - are scheduled in the run up to May’s elections.

As a result of lost facilities and space taken up by the bendy-bus terminus, some staff are having to come in 45 minutes early just to grab a parking space while others claim that the official travel arrangements are a joke.

As one of staff volunteered between sips of his shandy, “It’s all very well to jabber on about returning the building to the people but who do these pr--ks think is dealing with the public. Try getting a councillor to come down to meet a pissed off client and see what happens”.

Ooer!
