Funding

It’s not much of a “revelation” that Lib Dem politician Peter Black donated £27,000 into his own election coffers or that the money came from his income as a councillor – including the special responsibility allowance he used to receive before getting ousted by the opposition.

Of course, it is essentially his choice if the public money he gets is recycled into political campaigning work rather than his pocket – although the option seems to have excited his former coalition chums in the tories who reportedly went running to the media.

Even so, you have to wonder if the other activity of “producing newsletters” actually represents value for money when you consider the small rainforest that the Lib Dems wasted during their dismal Llansamlet by-election showing.
