Catching up with the past

It's encouraging to note that work on securing Swansea's place within the knowledge economy is to continue - and that the partnerships involved will get government support.

It will be interesting to see if the Lib Dem spinners manage to portray this as one of their successes or if the Technium and ILS projects are a result of the "Labour stagnation" they often mention.

Update: We can understand that a lack of involvement (and little or no interest) on their part might make the Stuffed Turkey crowd a bit vague about how things were before they got comfy behind their desks, but we suggest that they take a look at the signs on the Technium buildings at SA1. The fact that they are unaware of the Council's role puts their pontification on partnerships in the correct perspective.

As for the Institute of Life Sciences, the so-called insiders should do some research of their own - they will find that the initial conceptual work and bids were submitted, with active Council support, in 2003.

Overall, the pitiful Lib Dem propaganda effort of claiming that good times are finally here due to their activities is about as likely as Chris Holley actually writing the comments attributed to him.
